Copyright & takedowns
Effective October 9, 2026
wtm.miami respects copyright and responds to notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This page also explains how to get an intimate image removed under the TAKE IT DOWN Act.
Reporting copyright infringement
If you believe something on wtm.miami infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent (below). Your notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (or, if several works are covered by one notice, a representative list).
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough information for us to find it — the link to the post or reply is best.
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
When we receive a valid notice, we'll remove or disable access to the material and let the person who posted it know.
Counter-notification
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notification to our designated agent. It must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before it was removed.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which wtm.miami may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
When we receive a valid counter-notification, we'll send a copy to the person who sent the original notice and tell them we'll restore the material in 10 business days. We'll restore it no less than 10 and no more than 14 business days after we receive the counter-notification, unless our designated agent first receives notice that the original complainant has filed a court action seeking to stop the activity.
Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright.
Don't misrepresent
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. If you're not sure whether something infringes, consider talking to a lawyer first.

Intimate images (TAKE IT DOWN Act)
If an intimate image or video of you — real or digitally created or altered, including AI-generated — was posted on wtm.miami without your consent, we will remove it.
How to ask: tap ⋯ → Report on the post and choose "Private or intimate image of someone," or email takedown@wtm.miami. You don't need a wtm.miami account to email us. You can make the request yourself or have someone authorized to act for you make it.
A valid request needs, in writing:
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name works), or that of someone authorized to act for you.
- Information reasonably sufficient for us to find the image — the link to the post or reply is best.
- A brief statement that you have a good faith belief the image is an intimate visual depiction of you that was not consensual, with any information that helps us confirm that.
- Contact information so we can reach you (an email address is enough).
What we do: we remove the image as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after we receive a valid request, and make reasonable efforts to find and remove known identical copies on wtm.miami. You don't need to report each copy. We'll let you know when it's done. If the image may involve someone under 18, we also report it to NCMEC.
