Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
This policy explains what Presha Platforms LLC ("we," "us") collects when you use wtm.miami, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run wtm.miami and keep it safe, we round your location before we store it, and we don't sell your data.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Email address — for your account and important notices. Stored encrypted.
- Username — shown publicly next to what you post.
- Birthday — only to confirm you're 18 or older. Never shown.
- Password — stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form.
- US mobile number — to send you one-time verification codes. Stored encrypted. Never shown.
When you use wtm.miami
- What you post: posts, images, replies, reactions, @mentions, and reports you file.
- Approximate location: see "Location" below.
- Session and security records: IP address, browser user agent, login times, and security and audit logs (for example, logins, password changes, and moderation actions).
Anyone can read wtm.miami without an account. If you browse without an account, we still process your IP address and approximate location to show nearby posts and protect the service.
Location
- With your permission, we use your browser's location. Without it, we use an approximate location based on your IP address.
- Before we store it, we round your location to a grid of about 1 km. We never store or show your exact location.
- We use it to show you nearby posts and to place your posts on wtm.miami. Other people only see a rough distance, and the page only contains a much coarser area (about 5 km), never a place.
- We never sell your location or share it with anyone.
- We strip location and other metadata (EXIF/GPS) from the photos and videos we show to others.
How we use information
- To run wtm.miami: show posts, publish your posts, and run your account.
- To verify it's you: one-time codes at signup, on a new device (and at least every 30 days), and for password resets.
- To keep wtm.miami safe: block bots and spam, check new passwords against known breaches, screen images, handle reports, enforce the Community Rules, and prevent banned users from coming back.
- To meet legal obligations, such as responding to valid legal process and reporting child sexual abuse material.
Text messages
We use your mobile number only to send one-time verification codes (by text or, if you ask, a voice call). We never send marketing texts. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your SMS opt-in with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The only companies that handle your number are the service providers that deliver the codes for us. See the SMS terms in our Terms of Service.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, databases and backups, image storage (S3), text messages and voice calls (AWS End User Messaging), email (SES), and automated image moderation (Amazon Rekognition).
- Cloudflare Turnstile — a bot check on forms. Cloudflare receives information about your browser and IP address to tell humans from bots.
- Have I Been Pwned (Pwned Passwords) — to check whether a new password has appeared in a known data breach. Only the first few characters of a one-way hash of your password are sent; your password itself is never sent.
- Google Fonts — your browser loads our fonts from Google, which receives your IP address and browser information when it does.
- NCMEC and law enforcement — we report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, as federal law requires, and may share information when required by law or to protect someone from serious harm.
- A buyer or successor — if Presha Platforms LLC or wtm.miami is merged, sold, or reorganized, subject to this policy.
These providers process information for us under their own terms and privacy commitments.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies: one to keep you logged in, one to protect forms against cross-site request forgery, and, if someone tries to sign up with a birthday under 18, one that blocks signup from that browser for 24 hours. No advertising cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels.
How long we keep information
- Your account and content: until you delete them. When you delete your account, we delete your posts and replies, except content preserved for legal reporting (below). Replies other people made to you stay up, with your name shown as "[deleted]".
- Your phone number after deletion: kept encrypted for 30 days to prevent abuse, then deleted.
- Banned accounts: we keep the phone number and email (encrypted) to stop the person from signing up again.
- Unfinished signups: deleted after 24 hours if the phone number isn't verified.
- Security and audit logs: kept as long as needed for security and to investigate abuse.
- Backups: we keep continuous backups; deleted data ages out of them over time.
- Content preserved for legal reporting: if a post is blocked or removed as suspected child sexual abuse material, or removed after a report that it shows a minor or a private intimate image, we keep a copy of it and the related account details (username, email, phone number, signup IP address, and security logs) for one year in encrypted, access-restricted storage, even if the post or account is deleted, so we can report it to NCMEC and law enforcement as federal law requires. Then we delete it. While this hold lasts, the author can't delete the post, and deleting the account doesn't delete the preserved copy.
Your choices and rights
- Delete any post or reply, or your whole account, from the app (except a post preserved for legal reporting, as described above).
- Turn off browser location in your browser settings; we'll fall back to IP-based approximate location.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing privacy@wtm.miami. We'll need to confirm it's you, and we'll respond within 45 days.
- Reply STOP to our texts to stop them (you won't be able to verify by text until you opt back in).
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law; email privacy@wtm.miami and we'll honor them as the law requires.
Age
wtm.miami is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, including children under 13. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its information. If you believe a minor is using wtm.miami, report the account or email privacy@wtm.miami.
Security
We encrypt your email and phone number at rest, hash passwords, use HTTPS everywhere, and limit who can access data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above, and for significant changes we'll give notice on wtm.miami or by email before they take effect.
